InfoWe are affiliated to The Federation of Astronomical Societies and The British Astronomical Association.
Our President is Prof. Alec Boksenberg.

Established in 1967, WOLAS has become one of the largest amateur astronomical societies in the South East. With a current membership of over 170 and a regular meeting attendance of between 50 and 60, WOLAS is going from strength to strength!

The Society is very definitely not just for the advanced amateur astronomer, we have members with all levels of experience and interests and would welcome new members of all ages. Younger people are especially welcome.

Our monthly meetings are held at two locations:-
1) Christ Church Chapel, Redford Way, Uxbridge. (Map)
2) St John's Ambulance Hall, North Harrow. (Map)

Meetings are held on the second Monday of every month except August, covering a wide range of subjects, from observing the Moon to cosmology and from astrophotography to practical advice and discussions.
