Info | The Preseli Astronomy Group is a group of people interested in all aspects of astronomy. Set up in 2010 after the old 'West Wales Astronomy Group' disbanded we are based in the far reaches of West Wales and are open to anyone who is interested in or wants to get involved in astronomy, whether you be a complete novice or expert astrophotographer.
At the Preseli Astronomy Group you can meet like minded people, share your interests, learn more about astronomy and the universe we live in. The aim of the group is to bring the wonder of space to anyone who wants to join in the greatest quest of mankind. We believe that space is a place, not just a project; more to the point, we are a curious bunch we want to find out about things.
We are keen to promote astronomy and raise public awareness of it, but members are encouraged to pursue their interest in astronomy in whatever way they most enjoy. That means that our members have a wide range of interests and expertise including those who enjoy observing visually, taking photographs (with and without telescopes), using webcams and CCDs, reading of astronomy books and magazines or simply watching the Sky at Night on television.
If you have the slightest interest in astronomy or space science we want to meet you. We are lucky to have dark skies and its always nice to meet other people who are also fascinated by its mystery.
Join us at Letterston Memorial Hall at 7pm on the first Tuesday of the month, and if you're a little shy then use the contact us facility first, or join us on our forum and post a message introducing yourself. |
