Our two consultants have a wealth of experience in professional astronomy but are used to dealing with users of all abilities from absolute beginners through to experts. We know our subject in depth but appreciate how daunting it sometimes appears if you are new to it.
Neil Parker was Head of Technology and Deputy Drirector of the Royal Greenwich Observatory and worked on a range of major telescopes including the Isaac Newton Group in the Canary Islands and the 8-metre Gemini Telescopes now operating on Hawaii and in Chile.
Lee Sproats has been a keen amateur astronomer since the age of six and also has a PhD in astrophysics. Lee deals directly with most phone enquiries and visitors, and has a reputation for being extremely well-informed and helpful.
We are both keen nature observers although it has to be said that we are only casual bird watchers. Nevertheless, we do understand and use the equipment regularly and can help you choose the binoculars or telescope that best suits your needs.
We also offer training in astronomy and the use of equipment such as telescopes and astronomical cameras. We even supply clear skies by renting out the Green Witch House at the Arizona Sky Village.
Many of our customers become regulars and develop a long-term relationship which we value and they fnd helpful. We aren't perfect but if we make a mistake or a customer has a problem then we always do our best to sort it out as quickly as we can.
