Landsend astronomers

The Lands End Observatory is a small association of amateur astronomers based in the far West of Cornwall. This special location provides clear, dark skies and unique observing opportunities. We have no large or expensive telescopes, and we operate in the true spirit of backyard astronomy - doing what we can, with what we've got. Some of the most important and pioneering work ever done in astronomy, was with small telescopes, far inferior to those available today; and we believe that the true skill of astronomy lies in the integrity of the observer, not the size of the objective optic!
